Thinking about writing
When you are writing are you thinking about writing? The answer seems counterintuitive, however as you write it may benefit to outline your ideas of what you want to write about before you set it to paper or on a word document.
Here are ten helpful suggestions for you to consider before during and after you’ve written your work:
Listen to your voice
often we do not follow our first instinct. By listening to your voice as a writer you are allowing for the words to stand on their own.
Brainstorm
by brainstorming what you want to write about you are generating the most important parts of your subject and this we’ll be seen in your revisions
Control the flow
you set the pace of how fast or slow you write something
Revision
it’s always a good idea to go back and fix parts that you feel could be made better
Give it a read through
by reading your work aloud you can hear where your work might need to be changed
Have someone else read your work
by letting someone else to read your work your allowing unbiased feedback
Send the work to as many possible journals as you can
by getting your work out their you are encouraging others to see your work and judge it.
Enjoy the process
by making writing fun you have the ability to see yourself differently
Go back over pieces that were rejected
don’t discard works that may have been rejected repurpose them revise them and resubmit them
Write write write
another counterintuitive idea but the only way to get better at writing is by writing
